More Camaro... Almost Confirmed

Autoblog: "Speaking at the Automotive News World Congress, Ed Welburn, Camaro fanatic and GM Vice President Global Design, all but confirmed that the Camaro concept will see production."Sweet! Sorry for all of the Camaro posts lately. It's what I'm most excited about right now. Well, that and my MacBook Pro. Actually, I've been getting a very large amount of hits from the Camaro stuff so at least I know I'm not the only one interested.

Cars, Computers, & Refrigerators... Oh My!

Wow! What a week it's been and it's only Wednesday. A complete 180 from last week. USC's loss, Carson Palmer injured, hell breaking lose at work, yada yada yada... So why is this week so good?Monday, the Camaro is resurrected in the form of the Camaro Concept. The car is unbelievable! A 400hp, 2+2 seat configured, rear wheel drive coupe. Great! Add in 30mpg, displacement-on-demand technology, and a completely modern chassis/suspension/braking package and I'd say it's damn near close to perfect. Chevrolet just needs to give me the word on an official release and I'm dropping my deposit for it. Yes, I'll wait the 2-3 years for this.Monday also brought great tidings of cold and freshness. What does this mean? Remember way back in February of last year when I was dealing with another round of refrigerator blue? Of course you don't. Well I've been without a completely working refrigerator since that time. The freezer worked, but the refrigerator part didn't. You take things like keeping food cold for granted. After a while of dealing with this problem, my roommate and I eventually just learned to live around it. We bought only non-perishable items and anything that could be frozen. I'd come home every day after work and take my frozen orange juice out of the freezer, even if I didn't want any. That way if I did want some later, it would be somewhat thawed out. That's the way we rolled. Well all of that came to a close on Monday also. When I got home, I had a brand new Maytag MFF2557H. 25 cubic feet, french doors, bottom freezer, dual freezing engines, ice maker. This thing is pimp. Now I just need to re-learn that it's ok to buy perishable items.Tuesday. MacWorld! The rumors went super wild this time about what was getting released and they couldn't have been more off this time around. Intel iMacs and (what I thought stole the show) pro laptops all based around the Core Duo processor. I have been dying for a couple of years now to replace my aging G4/450x2 desktop with a high performance laptop. Never been able to do it because the Powerbook G4 was just not worth the money in my opinion. Well that's changing today when I order my MacBook Pro. Pretty amazing stuff here. Fast processor, extremely fast graphics card, and loaded with new tech. The only thing lame about it is the stupid name. MacBook Pro? You could have done better than that Apple. I didn't see any problem keeping the Powerbook name. Oh well. I can finally ditch all of that hardware sitting on my desks for something smaller, sleeker, and more powerful. Not shipping until February? Ok, I can wait.So that's the week so far. Very consumer whorish of me, I know. Oh well. What are ya gonna do? The only thing that might be able to top this week would be making sweet sweet love to Lindsay Lohan or something, and that's not even a sure thing to beat this week.

More Camaro Concept Pics

It never hurts to see more of a good thing. There's tons of photos and info out about the Camaro Concept now and here's a few of my favorites.

Camaro Concept... Really Official

The curtain has been pulled back at Detroit and info is widely available. Chevrolet has updated their site. Check it out!

Camaro Concept... It's Official (kinda)

Today at the Detroit Auto Show, Chevrolet officially unveiled the Camaro Concept. Road & Track has an exclusive first look at this amazing vehicle. My only question now is when can I put a deposit down at the dealership. This thing is so mine in 2008.Update: Looks like Road&Track definitely dropped the ball on this one. That "exclusive" page wasn't suppose to go up until the official unveiling from GM on this coming Monday. Good thing I downloaded that one image early. Wish I would have done the same for the video on that page. You'll be able to watch the release live on Monday @ 10:30am EST.Update Again: Well I was able to find screen grabs from the video that show off different angles of the car.

Happy New Year

With the new year just a couple hours away, I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy new year. I haven't posted much these last couple of months, but there's a lot to talk about with me and maybe tomorrow I'll throw up what some of that stuff is. I'm off to my parent's place and then to some parties. For tonight and the rest of our lives, be good humans.

A Camaro Concept... Could it be true?

This may very well be what I've been waiting for over the last 4 years. Salvation! I have my fingers crossed and am hoping it's true. What you may be looking at are the first pictures of the Chevrolet Camaro concept that will debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It could be a hoax, but I highly doubt it at this point.

As fast as these images appear on a site, it seems they come down just as fast. If it is true, look for a less drastic version using styling cues from this concept ready for release in 2008 as a 2009 model. Hot damn! I'm excited!

November, HDTV, and a certain Xbox

Geez. Talk about neglect. It's not like I'm so damn busy that I can't update here and there. Well, once again, I will try and make some kinda of effort to post a little more. Let's do a little catch up.I know I say this every time I get on here, but the year is going by so quick. I can't believe it's already Thanksgiving. Soon it'll be Christmas and then 2006. How can it be the middle of November right now and be 90 degrees outside? Kinda pisses me off. I'm dying for that cold weather right now. Oh well.I spent way too much money this weekend. I mean way too much. I finally got myself an HDTV. Been doing a ton of research on them for the past year. Finally got my ass out there and picked one up. The HDTV market is one of the few markets where the best selling units are actually the best quality too and that's because HD users are generally more higher-end users that take the time to learn about the tech. When it comes to rear projection HDTV, there's really only two big players are far as quality goes and that would be Samsung and Mitsubishi. You would think Sony would be up there too, but they're consistently scored lower than everyone else and, therefore, don't sell well at all. I decided on the Samsung HL-5078W and so far, I'm absolutely amazed. There's nothing on this thing to disappoint. It's got all the major connections and then some. The picture quality is simply beautiful. I'll be getting full HD broadcasting hooked up this week also.Ok, so the reason I finally pushed myself to get the HDTV was because of another large purchase I have already paid for and will be picking up tonight at midnight. I'm talking Xbox 360. I'm gonna have this monster tonight and all ready for full HD viewing. If I don't post the rest of the week, you'll know exactly why.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone. For the last background we have Regan from the scariest movie of all time, The Exorcist.

Samara Morgan

The little girl in the scary movie is such an old and boring concept that just doesn't frighten the way it use to, but that train of thought completely derailed for me with the introduction of Samara Morgan from the 2002 release, The Ring. She graces the next background of my October scary movie themes.

Jack Skellington

Can you believe The Nightmare Before Christmas is 13 years old? It seems like I just saw it in the theaters yesterday. The movie is in my top 3 of all time and I can't see it leaving anytime soon. Here's Jack Skellington for ya.

DVD Tuesday: 2005-10-18

The Monster

Another scary classic being thrown up. Here's the monster from Frankenstein.

Horny Hockey Lost

Man! How can you not love fall? Hockey has started. Lost has started. It's darker outside. Not so much cooler right now here in SoCal, but it eventually will cool down. Is it me, or do ya just get hornier in the fall? I sure do! Too much info?I'm sitting here watching a great game between the Kings and Red Wings. Wings are up 2-1. Hopefully the Kings will pull it out. Man I hate the Wing! So happy I'm watching hockey again. The game is pretty much the same as before, but a lot faster. I'm digging it. If there's one thing I don't like, it would be the tiny ass blockers they've given the goalies. I have no idea how those things are going to help to block anything. Oh well. Go Kings!Lost is back on! We're 4 episodes into the second season. I don't think I've been this into a show since the X-files. I can't even begin to describe how good this show is. Now you're telling me I can also watch reruns on my iPod?! Well that certainly doesn't suck.As for being horny in the fall, tell me I'm wrong. You know you're sitting there wanting to have some hot sex right now. It's definitely something in the air. Maybe it's the fall colors that get the blood flowing. I don't know. I might have to "share these feelings" with someone soon.

Stickman

Another scary movie theme. I'm going to go through these pretty quickly this year. Plan on putting up a new one every Saturday and Wednesday night for the month of October. Today's theme comes from one of the scariest movies of all time. A lot of people don't think so, but I think The Blair Witch Project is just a complete mind fuck, especially when you watch it for the first time. The "stickman" is what you get for a background today.

iPod Whore

I'm an idiot. That's a given, but top that off with me being an impulse buyer and you have a recipe for disaster. I just bought a new 60GB iPod in August. Right after they announced the new iPod with video capabilities today, I just put in my order for a black 60GB. I'm a consumer whore.

2006 Suzuki GSXR600 & GSR600

Trying to keep in the habit of posting. All of the 2006 bikes are being released and here's two that I'm in love with.

Waiting...

Waiting... will never get the credit it deserves in the theaters in terms of ticket sales and critic reviews. I haven't read a single positive review yet and, really, I don't expect to. It's not a flick that's going to go over well with the "professional" critic. Give it another 5-10 years, though, I'm sure you'll be hearing all of those same critics tell you exactly what I'm about to tell you today. Waiting... is the funniest movie I've seen in several years!Alright, there's not much to the story. There's a group of waiters, cooks, and hostesses that all work at this restaurant, Shenanigan's, and movie goes through what their basic day is like with one of the characters going through the "what am I doing with my life" thing. Simple. Ryan Reynolds is really the centerpiece in this flick. He's a damn riot in every film he does and that doesn't change here as the one-liner quick comeback smartass delivered in his own signature way. An absolute scene stealer. All of the other characters have their own personalities, but when it comes down to it, they really add fuel to Ryan's character, Monty. Anna Faris as Serena is hot as all hell and that definitely hurts nothing. When introduced to Dane Cook's character, Floyd, we get one of the most memorable line in the movie. "Welcome to thunderdome bitch!"The flick is just oozing with absolutely ridiculous lines and scenes that we're all going to be remembering and repeating for years to come. How many times have you referenced Spatula City from UHF, or the 37 dicks sucked from Clerks, or the red stapler from Office Space? You're gonna do the same for penis game from Waiting.... When walking home, all I could do was replay the gut busting scenes in my head and I couldn't help but laugh out loud again.Director/writer Rob McKittrick's first outing I can't wait to see what he's going to follow this up with. I can see this becoming a lot like the View Askew universe with several movies with recuiring actors. He definitely needs to work with Ryan Reynolds and Dane Cook again. Hurry up and bring something else out!Waiting... is destined to join the ranks of the modern day comedy cult film stardom and sit right up there beside flicks like Office Space, Mallrats, High Fidelity, PCU, Tommy Boy, UHF, Clerks, and so on and so forth. It's rough, rude, non-apologetic, and (I have to say it again because I can't emphasize it enough) simply the funniest movie I've seen in years. Go now!

The Bride

Better late than never if you ask me. It's that time of the year again when I like to put up scary movie themes leading up to Halloween, the best damn day of the year. The first theme is from a great scary movie. Here we have the bride from Bride of Frankenstein.

Poor Neglected Site

I can't believe the amount of neglect I've given this site in the last couple of months. There's been a ton that's happened and I haven't said a word about it. I guess I can do some quick catching up right now. It's finally fall. I thought summer would never end. This is my absolute favorite time of the year. Everything turns just the right color and it gets a little colder. I love it. I know we're already 7 days into October, but I'm still going to do the scary movie themes for this month. Probably get the first one rolling this weekend. I was going to do it last night, but the power was out over 3 blocks and I had to spend the night over at the parent's place. Oh well.I got back last Tuesday night from a 5 day trip to Rosarito. Lots of drinking. Lots of sleeping. Lots of fireworks. Definitely had some fun. Stayed at the friend's dad's beach house again. It was much needed considering how work has been lately. Got tons of pics and video I'll share with ya soon.As you can see, I busted a rim on my bike. That happened a couple of weeks ago from a fist-sized rock popping up and hitting it. Already bought replacement rims from eBay and have been installing them over the last couple of days. It's amazing how much you have to go through just to replace a motorcycle wheel. Good stuff. Should have it all ready to ride again by tomorrow. This is kinda all I have time for right now, but I'm definitely going to try and post a crap load more this month. Good for me. Bad for you.
